Suzanne Khan GUIDES Leave a Comment

Buying a used car in Delhi has been a popular way to own a car due to lower ownership costs and value for money when buying. However, as more people in Delhi invest in pre-owned cars, they often are not aware about how to transfer the Registration Certificate (RC) or vehicle ownership in Delhi.

Many car owners have trouble in understanding the process of ownership transfer and therefore look for external help. However, with a little bit of understanding and research, the RC can be transferred in Delhi quite easily between two parties without the involvement of a third party.

Why is car ownership transfer in Delhi required?

As per law, if the owner of the car sells his/her car then the owner has to transfer the registration of the car to the new owner. The transfer of ownership not only makes you the owner of the car but is also required for important processes like insurance renewal.

The transfer of ownership is a time consuming process. The transfer of car ownership is usually completed within 30-45 working days but can take longer.

Therefore, it is important to know which documents are required as well as the fees to be expected during the RC transfer process in Delhi. These are highlighted below:
