Pay E-Challan in Bangalore

June 16, 2022

In 2019, the New Motor Vehicle Amendment Act was enforced by the Government of India to impose stringent rules on traffic violators and enhance road safety. In line with the new traffic regulations, the Traffic Police now issue e-Challans in Bangalore for traffic violations in the city.

An e-Challan is a computer-generated challan that mentions the traffic fine and details of the traffic rule violated. The e-Challan is issued on the spot to the traffic violator and the traffic police server is updated automatically with the real-time entry. The electronic challan system has been introduced to increase transparency in the system so that violators cannot escape by bribing or any other means. The traffic e-challan can be paid either offline or online depending on the service provided by the city or state.

E-Challans are also generated for parking violations, that include parking the vehicle in a no-parking zone or jumping the red light or speeding. Since, physical payment of challan might be difficult for some, payment of e-Challan online is easier, faster and transparent.
