However, in recent years, Ford has turned its after-sales service around and launched successful products in recent years. Ford has revitalized the manner in which people think about their cars to become the sixth largest manufacturer in India.

These cars are loaded with performance and technology features such as Sync 3, driver assistance features and entertainment. The Ford EcoSport was one of the first compact SUVs to hit the Indian market and it has carved a place for itself. The EcoSport brought the high ground clearance and rugged exteriors of an SUV while ensuring the car was convenient to drive, park and offered ample storage space.
The EcoSport is available with a 1.5L Ti-VCT petrol engine and a 1.5L TDCi diesel engine. The Ford EcoSport is quick and delivers exceptional drivability. The higher variants of the EcoSport feature paddle shifters (automatic), auto headlamps, cruise control and reversing camera. Ford has ensured the EcoSport is a safe car as well, with safety features like EBA, ABS, and six airbags.
The Ford Figo
The previous-gen Ford Figo was a breakout hit for Ford. The hatchback, launched in 2010, was loved for its excellent handling and ride quality. For the 2015 revamp, Ford refreshed the Figo’s design with modern styling such as the Aston Martin-like front grill and the sharp, swept-back headlamps. The energetic design brings the Ford Figo up to date with its rivals.

The newer Ford Figo is offered with a 1.2L Ti-VCT petrol engine and a 1.5L TDCi diesel engine. Both engines provide excellent drivability while being powerful and efficient. The car offers mature rideability with a high level of refinement and good insulation which reduces road, wind and engine noise to a bare minimal.
The Figo’s most updated version features Ford’s Sync infotainment system along with steering-mounted as well as voice-activated controls. The 2015 Figo gets a monochrome display for its infotainment system while the newer 2019 refresh features a touchscreen display. One of the most noticeable features of the Figo is a 257 litre luggage bay. The rear seat also folds forward, should you require more space. Dual airbags are standard across all variants, with side and curtain airbags being offered on the highest variant.
The Ford Endeavour has been a traditional rival to the Fortuner, offering the same muscular appeal as the Japanese SUV. While the Endeavour is categorized as a large SUVs, the SUV offers high speed stability, good ride quality and a nicely weighted steering. The American SUV’s off-road credentials are backed up by four wheel drive and lockable rear differential, helping it tackle any off-road situation.
The Ford Endeavour comes equipped with either a 2.2L TDCi diesel engine or a 3.2L TDCi diesel engine. Both engines offer enough power and torque to move the SUV, with the larger engine offering more power and torque.
The Endeavor has plenty of space for passengers and offers a panoramic sunroof on the highest variant for a more premium experience. When going off-road, the Terrain Management System provides assistance using sensors to tackle the terrain you’re traversing.
Safety features add to the cars popularity, quick shifting gearbox add to the ease of driving on road in the city as well as off road, available in manual and automatic transmissions. The Endeavour has a solid road presence, excellent drivability and good enough pulling power.
The Ford Freestyle
The Ford Freestyle will bring a genuine smile to your face, with easy handling and excellent ride quality. Based on the Ford Figo hatchback, the crossover brings a more rugged appeal and higher ground clearance to offer a compelling compact soft-roader.
The Freestyle comes with a 1.2L Ti-VCT petrol engine and a 1.5L TDCi diesel engine, both of which offer plenty of power. The 190mm of ground clearance is combined with a tuned suspension to make driving on any surface as comfortable as possible. While rugged on the outside, the Ford Freestyle offers the same comforts on the inside as the Figo. The Freestyle does come with ABS and EBD as standard, with the higher variant getting Active Rollover Protection (ARP).
The Ford Aspire
The Ford Aspire is the only sedan in Ford’s lineup in India. The compact sedan brings the same performance and ride comfort as the other Ford cars. The biggest difference from the Figo is the addition of a 357 litre boot.
The Aspire comes in with a sprightly 1.2L Ti-VCT petrol engine or a powerful 1.5L TDCi diesel engine. The Ford Aspire borrows many of the interior details from the Figo, with auto-dimming IRVMs and dual tone interiors. The compact sedan offers decent legroom and headroom for passengers.
Ford Motors has come a long way since its entryin ‘92-’93, from the Ford Ikon to the Ford EcoSport. The quality of cars has improved greatly and Ford’s cars are known for their excellent ride quality and handling characteristics.
